Mandate
The Procurement and Supplies Unit is responsible for the management of all procurement activities of the Ministry within its jurisdiction in accordance with the Public Procurement Act, No. 8 of 2020 as read with the Public Procurement Regulations, S.I. No. 30 of 2022. The Unit also oversees management of contracts by the designated contract managers, and prepares various procurement reports required by the Zambia Public Procurement Authority (ZPPA), the Controlling Officer and the Procurement Committee respectively
Functions
- Undertakes the procurement of departmental requests within the Ministry;
- Provides Secretarial Services to the Ministry Procurement Committee;
- Manages tender processes in line with the applicable guidelines and procedures;
- Offer Procurement advisory services to stakeholders within the Ministry;
- Coordinates the formulation of the Annual Procurement Plan for the Ministry;
- Submit and Upload the Ministry Procurement Plan on the electronic Government Procurement (e-GP) platform hosted by the Zambia Public Procurement Authority (ZPPA).
