Information and Media Minister Chushi Kasanda says the new dawn Government as a proponent of media freedom and professionalism premised on self regulation is keen to see that media practitioners come together to form a mechanism to regulate themselves.
Honourable Kasanda says she is glad to note that consultations on the formulation of a media self regulatory framework have intensified through a technical working group on media self regulation comprising various stakeholders that include MISA Zambia, Media Liaison Committee, BBC Media Action and other partners.
The minister said this in a speech read on her behalf by Information and Media Acting Permanent Secretary Nalituba Mwale during the official launch of the MISA Zambia State of the Media Third Quarter Report in Lusaka today.
